Final Fantasy Tactics: Farewell, Ivalice

Final Fantasy Tactics: Farewell, Ivalice
(Original image source: Square Haven.)

I completed Final Fantasy Tactics: the War of the Lions yesterday. My final savegame before the final battle was at the 48 hour 57 minute mark with Ramza at level 50.

I consulted a guide after I finished the game to see what I had missed out on and was chagrined to learn the answer was a lot. Like Disgaea, there’s a lot in FFT that is unlockable and like Disgaea, those optional unlocks can be very obscure.

I’ll post a review once I’ve organised my thoughts.

Well done, you raced through! I took close to 80 hours and still missed lots. May yet go back to the Deep and to unlock 2 of the characters I missed (if I can)…

I missed out on just about every optional unlock in the game, I think. It didn’t help that the quests chains for some of those unlocks didn’t naturally follow one after the other. I prefer to play without consulting guides and I do wish designers would make those unlocks easier to figure out within the game. Oh well, at least it gives me something to aim for when I replay the game next year.
